Product description
Silicone square edges from BIW are manufactured from hot-vulcanising silicone rubber (HTV) or liquid silicone (LSR) using an extrusion process. They offer excellent resistance to heat, cold, ageing and chemical influences and are ideal for static and dynamic sealing applications.
Typical areas of application include mechanical engineering, apparatus engineering, medical technology, the food industry, vehicle construction and aerospace. BIW adapts the shape, dimensions, Shore hardness and colour precisely to the customer’s requirements – including approvals in accordance with FDA, BfR, KTW or W270.
Thanks to in-house development and assembly, special solutions such as co-extruded sealing profiles, foam versions or surface finishes can also be realised – e.g. for improved gliding properties, electrical conductivity or antimicrobial effect. Squares can also be used to cut out 3D parts later using water jet cutting or to extend the functions of the square by punching.
