Silicone Extrusion

Silicone co-extrudate

Co-extrudates from BIW combine several material properties, colours or components in a single silicone profile – ideal for complex sealing, insulating or connecting solutions in technology, medicine or industry.

  • Combination of different silicone types or materials
  • Tight, adhesion-optimised, slip-optimised or conductive areas can be realised
  • Ideal for complex applications with multiple requirements

Product description

Silicone co-extrudates from BIW are customised composite profiles in which two or more materials are joined together in a continuous extrusion process. They enable the realisation of complex requirements – such as differentiated hardness zones, function-specific surfaces, adhesion-mediated assembly areas or optical separations via colour coding.

Co-extrudates are used wherever classic silicone profiles reach their limits: e.g. in sealing technology, for housing closures, insulating solutions or seals with additional assembly, adhesive or clamping functions. Combinations of solid silicone and silicone foam can also be realised.

Precisely harmonised processes result in high-quality products with excellent bonding of the material zones – dimensionally stable, flexible and permanently tight. Thanks to in-house compounding, colour adaptations and special functions can also be realised.
