Silicone grades

Steam and oil-resistant silicone

For demanding media environments: BIW offers silicone solutions with excellent resistance to oil, vapour and aggressive substances – reliable even at high temperatures.

– Resistant to many oils, greases and vapours
– Temperature-stable up to +250 °C
– Ideal for mechanical engineering, automotive and process industries

Outstanding media resistance
Specially formulated silicones permanently resist steam, grease, oils and many chemicals.
Suitable for high temperatures
Operating temperatures of up to +250 °C make the material ideal for superheated steam and oil circuits.
Flexible and durable
Even under heavy use, the material remains elastic and dimensionally stable - without becoming brittle.
Suitable for dynamic applications
Perfect for seals, hoses or profiles in moving system components.
Hygienically and physiologically safe
Also available with approvals for food or medical technology on request.
Individually customisable
Colours, hardnesses, shapes and wall thicknesses can be adapted to customer and application requirements.

Product description

Vapour and oil-resistant silicone from BIW is used wherever conventional elastomers reach their limits. The specially developed compounds withstand hot media such as oil mist, water vapour or chemical cleaners in the long term – even when exposed to high pressure or temperature.

Whether as a hose, sealing lip or profile seal, these materials have proven themselves in mechanical and plant engineering, in automotive engineering, in laboratories and in the food and pharmaceutical industries. They prevent premature material fatigue, prevent leaks and increase the service life of technical systems.

BIW realises customised geometries and system solutions, also as multi-component co-extrudates or with additional functions (e.g. conductive, self-adhesive or flame-retardant).
