BIW manufactures reinforced silicone hoses using a special extrusion process in which high-quality silicone compounds are combined with internal fabric inserts – e.g. made of polyester, aramid, glass fibre or stainless steel spirals. The result is an elastic yet pressure-resistant hose that is ideal for applications with high mechanical requirements.
Typical applications include pressure and suction lines in medical technology, the food and beverage industry, mechanical engineering, high-temperature processes and pneumatic systems. The reinforcements also provide additional stability and restoring force in vacuum applications.
Thanks to in-house material development and flexible production, hoses can be adapted precisely to customer requirements – in terms of fabric type, silicone type, hose dimensions, colour and approvals (e.g. FDA, BfR, KTW, W270). Multi-layer wall structures or co-extruded solutions can also be realised.
