A few weeks after the K Trade Fair, the lasting impact of personal interaction is already clearly evident: Initial contacts were successfully converted into qualified leads and new business partnerships. Simultaneously, several development projects were launched, additional technical requirements were specified, and orders for existing products were successfully placed. This year’s K Trade Fair has once again demonstrated that direct dialogue – despite the increasing digitalization of our industry – continues to play a central role. Digital communication and information structures are indispensable today, but especially in the technical field, personal conversations remain crucial because they clarify complex requirements more quickly, define individual applications more precisely, and strengthen trust between users, developers, and technical decision-makers.
For BIW, the focus is therefore not on whether communication is digital or personal, but rather on how both worlds can be integrated into a high-performance overall system. In addition to traditional trade fairs and our established print and digital presence, BIW is increasingly focusing on internal formats such as our Tech Days, which take place at our headquarters. At these events, we explore technical solutions, new silicone-materials, product developments, and manufacturing processes in detail with our customers. Combining all these channels allows for a consistent presentation of our technological expertise and helps us to fully understand and effectively address our customers‘ needs. Please feel free to contact your main BIW contact
At the K trade fair, we also gathered numerous technical insights that are crucial for the further development of our portfolio. Among other things, we are working on advanced sealing solutions for modern roof coverings that offer increased temperature and weather resistance and set new standards in construction technology. We are also driving forward innovative concepts in the field of pipe repair, where optimized silicone elastomer formulations (compounds) and new silicone profile geometries ensure greater process reliability and extended service life. In addition, we are focusing on new material developments that raise mechanical strength, thermal performance, and chemical resistance to a new level, thereby opening up additional fields of application.
As detailed in the current issue of our newsletter BIW compact 2025.2, we have presented a number of innovations in recent months that have emerged directly from customer projects. These clearly demonstrate that progress in our field rarely occurs in isolation, but is almost always the result of close technical collaboration. Every application provides new insights, every customer suggestion opens up further optimization opportunities – and this is precisely the essential added value of a trade fair like K.
The entire BIW team would therefore like to express its sincere thanks to all visitors for the constructive exchange. Your discussions, your interest, and your technical input have been instrumental in enabling us to use the trade fair not only as a presentation platform, but also as a starting point for new developments. The past few weeks have confirmed how important it is to think about technologies together and develop solutions in partnership.
We look to the future with great confidence: with new projects, new ideas, and a firm commitment to not only address technical challenges together with our customers, but to actively develop them further. Together, we will create the solutions our markets will need tomorrow.
